The Concrete CAP acts as an Impressed Current Cathodic Protection Anode to prevent corrosion in chloride-contaminated reinforced concrete structures. The anode forms a durable matrix on the concrete surface and provides protection to embedded corroded reinforcing steel in concrete. The anode offers the advantages of enhanced performance, ease of application, and long-term durability.

The anode forms a strong bond with the concrete surface, satisfying the requirements of BS EN 1504-2:2004. In addition, anode can also act as a barrier coating to prevent the ingress of harmful chemicals into concrete. The anode offers an expected service life of 30–40 years.
